1.What fishing method did you use at the beginning of your fishing career?
Anders Forsberg:At the beginning I often fished for coarse fish, like bream and roach.
2.How long have you been fishing? How long have you been fishing with lures?
Anders Forsberg: I have been fishing almost my whole life and with lures during the latest 30 years.
Anders Forsberg: Yes it is. Because I like to feel the attack, the hit, to the lure.
3.Is fishing with lures your favorite fishing method? If yes, why?
4.Do you remember the first fish you caught with the lure?
Anders Forsberg: I think so. It was a perch, not big but I was young and therefore the perch felt big.
5.What kind of fish do you catch most willingly?
Anders Forsberg: Today I fish a lot for pike but I also like going to Florida for Sailfish.
6.What are your biggest fishing successes and records?
Anders Forsberg: It must be when I started carp fishing. During two weeeks in 1984 I caught and realesed 19 carp between 10 and 16 kilo.
7.Could you tell us about one fishing event you will never forget?
Anders Forsberg: The first time I caught a carp. I was impressed about the strenght.
8.When did your first fishing successes start?
Anders Forsberg: It started round 1978.
9.Did you have any instructor or "guru" who was teaching you the techniques of lure presentation?
Anders Forsberg: No I did not.
10.What are your favorite fisheries in your country and abroad?
Anders Forsberg: In Sweden it ´s my home waters round Västervik. In the Baltic Sea. Outside Swedn I´ts Florida keys.
11.Do you take home the fish you caught? Do you release fish that were subject to long hauling?
Anders Forsberg: I release most of my fish. Sometimes a keep a seatrout for dinner.
12.What do you think about the ‘catch&release’ ideology widely propagated lately?
Anders Forsberg: In most times I like it and in many waters it´s necessary if you want to maintain good fishing.
13.How much time do you usually need to haul a medium size pike or musky?
Anders Forsberg: Often much shorter than you could expect. A 10 kilo pike – maybe two minutes.
14.How do you land the fish?
Anders Forsberg: Mostly with my hand and sometiimed together with a lipgrip. Sometimes with a net.
15.How long does your fishing season last and what is your first target in the new year?
Anders Forsberg: My fishing season starts in mid March and last until end of November. Big pike of course.
16.What equipment do you use when fishing for your favorite species?
Anders Forsberg: Today a mostly fish for pike and sea trout. For pike I use a baitcaster and a six feet jerkbait rod and for the seatrout a fix spool reel with a 10 feet rod.
17.What is your favorite method of fishing for pike or musky (casting or trolling)?
Anders Forsberg: For pike it is jerkbait fishing, but I do also a lot of fishing with soft baits.
18.What leaders do you use when fishing for predators?
Anders Forsberg: Mostly I fish with soft leaders but some jerkbaits demands stiff leaders.
19.What lures did you use at the beginning of your career?
Anders Forsberg: Often lures from Abu garcia and Mepps.
20.Do you fish only with artificial lures or do you also use natural ones?
Anders Forsberg: Mostly artificials but now and then live baits.
21.What types of artificial lures do you use most often?
Anders Forsberg: Today I fish a lot with different jerkbaits and big soft baits like the Bull Dawg.
22.Do you have any favorite lure? If yes what is it?
Anders Forsberg: A very difficult question. I have hundreds of pike lures!
23.Your favorite Salmo lure? What is your favorite lure for pikes and musky? What is your favorite lure for other fish species?
Anders Forsberg: My favourites among Salmo lures is Slider and Jack for pike and for sea trout Slim.
24. Which features of a lure are in your opinion the most important for the fish?
Anders Forsberg: (movement, appearance, smell, color)? What colors are the best in your opinion? The movement is the most important. And the speed you fish the lure.
25.How do you choose the lure?
Anders Forsberg: I choose lure depending of the depth.
26.How big are the lures that you use most often for example for pikes or musky?
Anders Forsberg: Between 40 and 120 grams.
27.How fast do you lead artificial lures?
Anders Forsberg: Often slow, but fast winding can sometimes be very successful.
28.How deep do you lead the lures?
Anders Forsberg: Mostly between surface and down to six seven meters.
29.What are your reasons when choosing a particular spot on a lake?
Anders Forsberg: I’m often looking for drop-offs towards deeper water.
30.What do you do after getting on the spot?
Anders Forsberg: Try to place the boat in the very best position.
31.Do you have any special way of fishing in the spot?
Anders Forsberg: I try to fish In all depths and in different speeds.
32.On how many spots do you fish during one fishing day?
Anders Forsberg: Usually round 10 spots but some days more.
33.What would be characteristics of the ideal fisherman fishing for your favourite species?
Anders Forsberg: To belive in what he is doing.
34.What influences the number of fish you catch per day?
Anders Forsberg: Very often your own concentration. I often start my day by shutting my eyes and visual all the spots.
35.Do weather and season influence the number of fish you catch? If yes, what is the ideal weather for you?
Anders Forsberg: Wind and air pressure affects the pike fishing a lot. Wind (between 5 – 9 meters per second) from southeast to west is the best fishing wind and I prefer a sky with lots of clouds.
36.Braided lines or monofilament?
Anders Forsberg: Braided line to 100 percent.
37.Do you use the state-of-the-art equipment: GPS, sonar, underwater camera?
Anders Forsberg: I use a fishfinder and GPS.
